CLEVELAND, Ohio – Northeast Ohio is experiencing additional detours and delays for motorists due to ongoing road construction.
The Ohio Department of Transportation has released a list of new impacts that drivers can expect in the coming weeks.
I-480 westbound at I-77 will be reduced to one lane from 10:00 p.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m. Saturday for bridge repairs.
I-480 westbound between Ohio 176 and State Road Due to construction work on the guard wall, the left lane will be closed on Wednesday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
US 422 eastbound at Richmond Road and Warrensville Center Road Due to bridge repairs, the right lane will be closed from Monday until September.
East 185th Street between Lake Erie and Pawnee Avenue Due to road construction work, various road restrictions will apply from Monday until mid-September.
The following ramps will be closed from 5:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Saturday for resurfacing. Not all ramps will be closed at the same time.
I-71 northbound exit ramp to Denison AvenueThe detour will take I-71 north to Fulton Road.
Denison Avenue ramp to I-71 South. Detour via Fulton Road to I-71 South.
Due to road testing, the following closures will apply from Friday 9:00 p.m. to Sunday 11:00 a.m.
Take Ohio 91 northbound to US 422 westboundThe detour will take US 422 east to Ohio 306 and then continue to US 422 west.
US 422 west to I-271 northThe detour will take you via I-480 West to Miles Road and then to I-480 East.
Bridge repairs in Cuyahoga County:
I-77 bridge over I-480, Starting Friday and lasting until October, all lanes will be relocated.
I-480 Eastbound ramp to I-271 North/US 422 East Various lane restrictions will apply from 9:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.
US 422 eastbound between Cannon Road and Harper Road Various lane restrictions will apply from 9:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.
I-480 westbound just before the Miles Road exit Various lane restrictions will apply from 9:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.
US 422 eastbound between Cannon Road and Harper Road There will be various lane restrictions in place from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on September 9.
I-480 Eastbound ramp to I-271 North/US 422 East There will be various lane restrictions from 9:00 p.m. on September 13th to 5:00 a.m. on September 16th.
US 6 between Rockefeller Road and Ohio 91 will be restricted to westbound traffic only from Monday until October. The diversion for eastbound traffic is Ohio 91 (SOM Center Road) via Eddy Road to Rockefeller Road.
I-90 from Ohio Turnpike Plaza west of Center Road interchange will begin erecting construction site signs for the upcoming road repair project. Nighttime road repair work from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. will begin Sept. 3. Traffic will be maintained in 11-foot wide lanes in each direction. Estimated completion is October.
Ohio 57 between Ohio 162 and I-71 will be closed on September 3 for 30 days for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists will be from Ohio 57 to Ohio 162 west to Ohio 3 south to US 224/I-76 east to Ohio 57 and vice versa. Estimated completion is October 3.
Ohio 94 north of Ohio 303 will be closed September 3rd for 30 days to replace the culvert. The detour route for northbound motorists will be from Ohio 94 to Ohio 303, west to Ohio 3 north to Ohio 82 east to Ohio 94 and vice versa. Estimated completion is October 3rd.
Ohio 94 at the southern section of the Ohio 94/Ohio 162 roundabout There will be lane closures for repaving and drainage work. Crews will be mobilized next week, but main road work will not begin until after Labor Day. Traffic will be maintained at all times. Estimated completion is October.
I-77 southbound at the I-76/Kenmore Leg intersection is closed from 10:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Saturday due to concrete pouring of a bridge deck. The detour will run from I-76/Kenmore Leg west to I-277 east to I-77 and then to I-76 east.
I-77/Ohio 8 South at the Central Interchange will be closed Friday 10:00 p.m. to Saturday 5:00 a.m. The detour will be from I-76 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg to I-277 eastbound to I-77.
The ramp from Ohio 8 South to I-76 West will be closed Tuesday 10:00 p.m. to Wednesday 5:00 a.m. The detour runs via I-77 South to Archwood Avenue, then via I-77 North to I-76 West.
The ramp from I-77 North to I-76 East will be closed Tuesday 9:00 p.m. to Wednesday 5:00 a.m. The detour runs via I-76 West to Main Street and then I-76 East.
The ramp from Ohio 8 southbound to I-76 eastbound is closed. through Wednesday. The detour runs from I-76 West to I-76/Kenmore Leg to I-277 East to I-77 North to I-76 East.
The ramp from I-77 southbound to Waterloo Road is closed through August 30. The detour runs from I-77 southbound to US 224 eastbound to Kelly Avenue and then to Waterloo Road.
From Monday to Wednesday morning, the following ramps will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.:
Main Street to I-76 West/I-77 NorthThe detour will take I-76 east to Kelly Avenue/Arlington Street and then to I-76 west.
Ramp from I-76 West/I-77 North to Dart Avenue/SR 59The detour will take the Main Street exit to Thornton Street and then to Rhoades Avenue.
Ohio 59 ramps to I-76 West/I-77 NorthThe detour runs from V. Odom Boulevard to I-77.
The following closures apply until the beginning of September:
I-277/US 224 westbound between I-77 and I-76/Kenmore Leg is closed for bridge repairs and repaving. The detour runs via I-77 north to I-76 west to I-76/Kenmore Leg.
The ramp from I-77 northbound to I-277/US 224 westbound is closed. The detour runs from I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg.
The ramp from Main Street to I-277 westbound is closedThe detour runs via Ohio 619 West to State Street and then to I-76 West.
The I-277 westbound ramp onto Waterloo Road is closedThe detour takes you west on Ohio 619 to the westbound I-76 ramp at Wooster Road.
I-76/Kenmore Leg eastbound is closed until mid-September for bridge repairs and repaving. The detour runs from I-277 eastbound to I-77 northbound to I-76.
The ramp from Kenmore Boulevard to I-76/Kenmore Leg eastbound is closed until mid-September. The detour goes via Kenmore Boulevard to Manchester Road, then to I-277 east, I-77 north and I-76.
The ramp from I-77 northbound to Ohio 21 southbound will be closed every evening from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. beginning Sunday through Tuesday. The detour will take I-77 north to Ohio 18 and then I-77 south to Ohio 21 south.
Ohio 21 northbound under I-77 will be closed nightly between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. beginning Sunday and ending the morning of August 31. The detour will take I-77 south to Ridgewood Road and then to I-77 north.
