Roope Hintz has established himself as a cornerstone of the Dallas Stars in recent years, earning him more recognition across the league.
NHL Network named Hintz as one of the best centers in the league when it released its player rankings. Hintz landed at number 14 on the list.
Last year, he totaled 65 points (30 goals, 35 assists) in 80 games, compared to 72 and 75 points in the previous two seasons. He was a key player in the Stars’ second consecutive trip to the Western Conference finals, although injuries limited him to just eight points in 15 playoff games.
With his 65 points, he was the third-best player on his team, along with Wyatt Johnston, behind Joe Pavelski with 67 points and Jason Robertson with 80 points. With his 30 goals, he was the second-best player on his team, just behind Wyatt Johnston, who led the team with 32 goals.
Hintz will remain loyal to the Stars for quite some time. In November 2022, he signed an eight-year contract extension with the team worth $8.45 million per year.
Hintz isn’t the only star player to make the NHL Network’s offseason rankings. So far, Jason Roberton has been one of the best wingers and Jake Oettinger one of the best goalies.
