Sadie Sink can’t believe Stranger Things is finally coming to an end.
The actress spoke with ET’s Denny Directo at diversity Power of Young Hollywood event on Thursday – where she was honored along with the artist Sabrina Carpenter, Saturday Night Live Marcello Hernandez and other young icons – and she thought about filming the upcoming fifth and final season of Netflix’s science fiction hit.
“It’s been really super positive, honestly. Since it’s the last season, we really want to savor every moment and just enjoy the time we have together – and deliver a season that everyone has kind of been waiting for,” she said.
As for the award at the event, for her work on Stranger Things and leading roles in the Oscar-winning film The whalethe Netflix horror trilogy Street of FearAnd Taylor Swift’s voiceSink said it felt like “such an honor” to star in the epic 10-minute “All Too Well” music video.
“I’ve been in this industry for quite a while and to have reached this point and achieved this, I don’t know, I just feel very lucky and it’s a huge achievement,” she marveled.
ET spoke to Sink’s co-star Maya Hawke on Inside Out 2 premiered in June, and she said that despite the high emotions, returning to filming the final season was “reinvigorating” for the cast.
“It’s starting to be heartbreaking, you know? I mean, it’s the end of a really long journey,” Hawke reflected. “For some of my colleagues, it’s been even longer than it has been for me. So it’s really sentimental.”
“But as a late-comer cast member, I feel like it’s my job to be here to consider their feelings and just be grateful and excited to have even been a part of it,” she added.
Stranger Things Seasons 1-4 are now streaming on Netflix. Season 5 is expected to premiere in 2025.
