Simon Hunt, Commercial and Service Director at National Windscreens, highlighted the company’s focus on sustainability.

“We understand that sustainability is an ongoing process and our 2023 Sustainability Report allows us to continue to measure our progress,” says Simon Hunt, the company’s commercial and services director. “…To minimise climate impact, careful consideration of all operations is essential. Sustainability is built into every step, from the first contact with the customer, through to windscreen repair or replacement, and recycling.”

According to the report, National Windscreens sent 100% of the windshields left over after replacement for recycling and 90% of that material was recyclable.

The report also highlighted National Windscreens’ ongoing initiative to repair windshields whenever possible. It says the company performed a total of 495,845 repairs, replacements and calibrations in 2023. Of that work, just over 20% was repairs. This is not a significant difference from 2022, according to a table in the report documenting the past few years.

According to the report, National Windscreens aims to achieve a 40% repair rate by 2030 and also aims to reduce its emissions by 2030 in line with the Paris Agreement to curb global warming.
