USA: COVID-19 numbers expected to rise before schools reopen
Several states across the country have seen a surge in COVID-19 cases over the summer before children return to school.

Pickup for Villa Maria Nursing & Rehabilitation’s second annual school supply drive will be Friday.
The event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the facility located at 20 Babcock Lane, Plainfield.
Students of all ages and school districts can pick up school supplies for free. Items available include backpacks, pencils, pencil cases, erasers and glue sticks.
Students from the region will soon be able to use these resources.

All students in the Norwich, Plainfield and Griswold public school districts will return to school on Thursday, August 29.
For Year 9 students at Norwich Free Academy, the new school year begins on Wednesday 28 August. All Norwich Free Academy students return to school on Thursday 29 August.
The first day of school for students in preschool through ninth grade in the Killingly Public School District is Thursday, August 29. Students in grades 10 through 12 will return to school the following day.
