You know, I’m telling you this now: Kamala Harris has a new plan. We read on, she will call for a nationwide ban on price gouging tomorrow. She said: “I will go after big corporations.”
OK. So what does that mean? How do we deal with it? If that’s what she means, government-imposed price controls, then that’s ultimately going to lead to – Mike Lee actually wrote a post on X about it. Scarcity and a vicious cycle of poverty and a vicious cycle of dependence on government. Of course Kamala Harris would love that.
And another thing that could happen is, if they empower and weaponize the Justice Department to go after small businesses and large businesses and manufacturers, what do you think those manufacturers are going to do? They’re going to have to get a lawyer. And that means they’re not going to hire a local lawyer who’s, you know, $100 an hour. If it’s a big manufacturer, they’re going to go to the big law firms. Let’s say they go after Kellogg’s, for heaven’s sake. “Oh, cereal is too expensive.” It’s — they dictate the price by the intersection of supply and demand. That’s basic economics.
