Here at the Silver Bullets Podcast, we’re finally back to our weekly football season schedule. It’s been a long offseason, but there’s a lot to talk about.
We start with Ohio State’s starter at quarterback. Ryan Day will not allow the position battle to spill into the 2024 regular season as he has named Will Howard his man to lead the offense. We discuss the impact of this decision and how we expect it to affect OSU’s offense in the coming year.
Howard wasn’t the only player to make headlines since our last broadcast. The Buckeyes also named four captains for the 2024 season. We talk about whether the right or wrong decisions were made in both the personnel involved and the numbers. We also have a new recipient of the Block O jersey and we think it’s a great choice. Several more Buckeyes have shed their black stripes and are now “official.”
Kourt Williams had to end his playing career due to health reasons, which is the unfortunate news of this episode. We wish Williams the best of luck in the next step of his journey.
Finally, we’ll take a look at the bottom of the Big Ten. We can’t make our usual division rankings predictions this season because there are no longer divisions in the conference. With 18 teams to rank, it would be quite a long way to go from the bottom to the top, so we’ll start at the bottom and rank the teams we think will finish 10th through 18th in the Big Ten.
Next week, we’ll wrap things up by giving our bold predictions for the teams that will finish in the top nine of the conference. As always, feel free to tell us what you think we did right or wrong, and we’ll know for sure at the end of the 2024 season.
