WILLIAMSPORT, PA (Dakota News Now) – After a chaotic weekend of traveling to the Little League World Series, production meetings with ESPN and adjusting uniforms and equipment, the Sioux Falls Little League team finally has a chance to stretch its legs, enjoy Williamsport and do what it came here to do.

After visiting Lamade Stadium last night, the site of the World Series where they will soon play, Sioux Falls finally went to the practice field twice today before a team dinner.
While this squad does not have a dominant player to lead the way, as Marcus Phillips and Gavin Weir did in 2017 and 2021, it is a balanced team in the lineup and pitching staff that is confident it can compete with the best in the rest of the country and the world because of its ability to win in different ways.
“There are just no weak spots in our lineup. We don’t have any part of our lineup that they think they can get out of the situation with quick throws or low pitches. So our hitters challenge every pitcher,” said head coach Nick Kortan.
“The teams are just really good and have really good pitchers. But I also think we have some really good pitchers and guys who can hit the ball really well,” says Devin Cargin.
The Sioux Falls team has a lot to do before its first game against Lake Mary, Florida, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
There will be a picnic tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. CST and then they will participate in the Grand Slam Parade in Downtown Williamsport at 4:00 p.m. And before their game, the opening ceremony will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.
