Skoda Kushaq automatic 300,000 rupees cheaper! » MotorOctane

In 2021, Skoda launched the Kushaq in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. This SUV was meant to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos in the Indian market. However, the Creta’s trust and loyal fan base were never affected by the Kushaq. Now, to attract SUV buyers, Skoda has launched the new Kushaq Onxy AT variant. This makes the automatic variant of the Kushaq cheaper by Rs 2.35 lakh!

Skoda India recently launched an automatic option on the Onyx trim of the Kushaq. Earlier, the automatic option was available on the Ambition variant. The Ambition AT currently costs Rs 18.64 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The new Onyx AT, on the other hand, has been launched at Rs 15.78 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The difference between the Ambition and the Onyx with automatic is almost Rs 3 lakh!

What else?

The Onyx variant comes with a single 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque and is mated to a manual and a new automatic transmission with torque converter. Skoda also offers a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with the option of a DCT gearbox for higher variants. Otherwise, there are no major changes for the Onyx variant. However, the brand has added features like hill start assist, LED headlights, automatic climate control, paddle shifters and more. Skoda also offers 6 airbags as standard on the Kushaq.

Furthermore, Skoda has confirmed a facelift version of the Kushaq SUV. The brand has also confirmed that the SUV will come with advanced features like a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and more. We can also expect features like a panoramic sunroof and a larger touchscreen system. The engine and transmission options will remain the same with the facelift. In fact, we have also spotted other Skoda cars – the Slavia facelift and the upcoming Nexon competitor. So, overall, Skoda India is all set to take on its rivals with upcoming facelifts and new products.
