Slipknot’s Sid Wilson in hospital with burns: “I know better”

Sid Wilson of Slipknot was injured today in an “accident”. According to the musician, the cause was the “remains” of a campfire that he burned while “working on the farm”.

In the first of two video updates, Wilson described the event as an “explosion” while being treated for burns at a hospital.

“I had an explosion in my face. I’m OK. I’m going to be OK, but I had some severe burns on my face and arms,” Wilson says in a video shared on Instagram and recorded at a hospital.

He said they took X-rays of his chest and he was “scorched all over.”

“My eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arms are pretty badly burned – both arms,” Wilson explains, calming his worries by saying, “I’m going to be OK, guys and I, I don’t care what it takes, see you on tour.”

“I’m obviously allergic to fire,” he jokes, but overall in a good mood.

A baby can be heard calling Wilson a pet name in the background, suggesting that his son Sidney and partner Kelly Osbourne are nearby.

In a second video, Wilson is taken to a “better facility because they have better burn beds there,” and points out that the worst burns were on his arms.

“They’re going to shave my head, so say goodbye to the long hair,” he also says, later reassuring his fans: “If I talk to you here the way I do, it’s not a bad thing.”

“I have to say, I know better,” he admits, shying away from being specific. “So, people out there, be very careful when you handle fire. I’ve had to deal with it countless times. Of course, I thought about it once and thought, ‘Oh, it’ll work out…'” he says, trailing off.

Later in the video, Wilson alludes to a “campfire” and says he has already suffered burns.

“There were still leftovers and I got a little rush “It wasn’t a fire,” he reveals. “It didn’t come from a show, it came from working on the farm.”
