Your wedding is often considered the biggest and most expensive day of your life.
But not if you’re Brittney Watson, a 23-year-old bride whose mother Shelley (aka “the Princess of Cheap”) managed to put on the entire celebration for just $750.
This isn’t Shelley’s first time hosting a wedding on a budget; years before, she hosted her eldest daughter Ashley’s wedding at a local basketball court for $1,000.

When it came to Brittney and her partner Shane’s wedding, guests were shocked at how much effort mother Shelley put into keeping costs down.
The wedding took place at a local chiropractor’s office – not exactly the best romantic atmosphere, but definitely a win when renting the venue is free!

Brittney walked down the aisle (the office corridor) before reaching the altar (the waiting room) to meet her handsome groom Shane.
Toilet paper decorations and a student mariachi band that volunteered for the event created the right atmosphere. And the beautiful bride wore her older sister’s wedding dress.

When it comes to frugal, Shelley says creativity is key… and when it came time for the outdoor reception, guests were blown away by the creativity on display.

The party continued in the chiropractor’s parking lot under marquees borrowed from local businesses.
Shelley had an unconventional attitude and used spray-painted tumbleweeds as decorations and stones as place cards.
As far as the menu is concerned, guests could only describe the offerings as “interesting”.
Shelley prepared the food herself and was lucky when she found a deal at the local supermarket – eight cucumbers for just one dollar!

“The selection of food was simply amazing. It was hard to choose between cucumber water, cucumber sandwiches and cucumber boats,” joked one guest.
“The cucumber sandwiches were great! They were much better than the cheese sandwiches at my wedding,” said older sister Ashley.
So true, Ashley! At least the cucumber sandwiches are vegan!
Shelley offered the guests more than just cucumbers, as there was also a repurposed penis cake from the bachelor party for dessert.

Even though some guests didn’t like the scaled-down celebration, bride Brittney was overjoyed.
“Everything is so beautiful. I didn’t expect Mom to be able to do this on a $750 budget, but she did it and it looks so good!” Brittney beamed.
