Just months after launching a brand new mobile app to control its audio products, Sonos is considering bringing back the previous version of the app after numerous user complaints, reports The edge.

Sonos redesigned app
While Sonos has been working to fix a number of missing features and issues with the new app and has created a schedule to keep users updated on the company’s progress, The edge reports that there have been “discussions at the highest level at Sonos” about possibly offering the old app as an interim solution.

If customers can revert to the older software, it could ease their frustration and at least reduce the pressure on Sonos to fix every problem with the new app. For now, at least, only the redesigned version is available, making it impossible for some customers to avoid the flaws.

Just last week, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence announced on a conference call that the launch of two upcoming products would be delayed due to “challenges with our new app.” Although Spence did not name the products in question, one of them is likely the successor to the Arc soundbar, the company’s flagship product.
