CARSTAR CANADA STRESSES FRANCHISE PROFITABILITY AND GROWTH AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE

Story by ALLISON ROGERS

CARSTAR Canada franchisees are truly passionate about what their network and the opportunities it provides enable them to succeed. That was evident at this year’s national conference, held in early July against the stunning backdrop of Victoria, British Columbia. This year’s conference theme – VELOCITY – celebrated CARSTAR Canada’s 30th anniversary and the company placed particular emphasis on topics such as franchisee profitability, industry relations and leveraging CARSTAR Canada’s resources for recruiting, employee retention, customer service, adopting advanced repair technologies and more. During a media roundtable, Sabrina Thring, CARSTAR Canada brand president, and Dave Foster, CARSTAR Canada vice president of operations, explained some of the reasons behind this year’s themes. “We want to light a fire,” said Thring, referring specifically to CARSTAR Canada’s Restore the Star program, which focuses on franchisee growth and profitability.

“Members of our network should know that they never have to leave CARSTAR to find a solution,” Foster added. Thring was excited to reveal that the attendance rate at CARSTAR Canada’s regional meetings is 70 percent. Foster and Thring also talked about CARSTAR’s commitment to helping its franchisees adopt advanced technologies such as ADAS calibration.

“Our members can use a partner or do (calibrations) in-house,” Thring said. “We are driving the in-house calibration movement.” CARSTAR Canada also raised $73,495 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada throughout the event. Special mention goes to Andrew Northrup, West Zone Manager for CARSTAR Canada, who brought all CARSTAR Canada zones together to raise $20,000 so he could shave his mustache live on stage.
