Standings before today’s baseball games

The 2024 MLB playoffs will be here sooner than we think.

But first, a lot still needs to be decided on the field in the regular season to see which teams can secure a spot in the MLB postseason.

The race for the NL wildcards has been very exciting for some time, but recent comebacks by the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres have suddenly put the NL West in jeopardy and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ lead in that division is much smaller than it was a few weeks ago, making the race for the postseason even more exciting.

And other divisions are still up for grabs, as well as additional wildcard spots and positions.

The three division winners each participate in the MLB postseason; the three teams with the best records that did not win their division receive wild-card spots.

Check out what the MLB playoff situation looks like ahead of the games on August 12, 2024.
