Steam players have been warned that they have less than 24 hours to secure several free downloads

hurry up

Steam gamers around the world be warned: you only have a few hours left to grab a ton of exclusive free downloads before they’re gone forever.

If you’re one of those people who regularly checks Steam, you probably already know that it’s a great source of free goodies.

Usually there are tons of demos, bonuses, and other freebies just waiting to be grabbed – and last week was no exception.

Steam is currently running a special Rhythm Fest promotion with discounts on all sorts of rhythm and music-related games, which isn’t surprising. There are also loads of demos and three exclusive animated avatars that, I must admit, look particularly cool.

If you missed this promotion, don’t worry: you still have some There’s still time to claim some demos and/or the animated avatars. Not much time, mind you.

Steam’s Rhythm Fest officially ends here in the UK at 6pm on August 26, which is about four hours away at the time of writing, so hurry!

If free avatars aren’t your thing, there are also a handful of new games that are free to download and keep. Nothing major, but worth a look if you’re into that sort of thing.

New games added since this weekend that you can download and play for free and without a subscription include the following:

  • Squared Adventure – A nice looking 2D platformer with really well done pixel graphics. I definitely recommend checking it out if you have time.
  • Emerald Dreams: Sanity – Platformer Quest – A 2D RPG with a very silly name.
  • Rune Seeker – An early access strategy roguelike that could be quite fun if you’re a fan of the genre.
  • Capital – Very similar to what someone ordered GTA VI out of desire.
