Stellar Crown card could give your Pokemon deck the deadly kick

In Stoneham

The Pokémon community is on track to receive another exciting expansion set with the Pokémon Trading Card Game: Stellar Crown on September 13th.

This expansion set will introduce a wave of new Pokemon cards and trainers, including many featuring the sparkling Stellar Tera type. With that in mind, the latest full-art character piece revealed online has piqued the community’s curiosity.

As revealed by the official Pokemon TCG X account, Stellar Crown will feature an ultra-rare Crispin card. The card itself is vibrant and expressive, and it seems like it could also be potentially deadly in the right decks.

Crispin (164/142) is simple but effective. It allows the user to search their deck for up to 2 basic Energy of different types, show them to their opponent, add one of them to their hand, and attach the other to their Pokémon in any way they want.

Energy searches are always valuable in Pokemon, but this card seems particularly well suited to Stellar Tera-type cards. Stellar Pokemon use multiple energy types, similar to old Crystal Pokemon, so this card could help you get set up quickly at the start of a game.

Some players were clearly intimidated by the potential of this card. Some were left wondering how to use it, and another was insistent: “WAIT, I DON’T WANT STELLAR TERA CARDS TO BE GOOD. PLEASE DO NOT PRINT THIS CARD, MR. PIKACHU!”

One excited player shared his thoughts on the card as a whole, exclaiming, “Oooh, this is going to be in some big decks!!” Another chimed in, adding, “This card is definitely a hit.”

Others were delighted to see Crispin on such a vibrant card, with many calling him their “son.” If you’re not familiar with the character, he was introduced to the franchise via the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk DLC and has since gained something of a cult following.

In terms of competitive viability, this card looks surprisingly deadly—especially for players hoping to play with decks heavy on Stellar Tera cards when the new card type is introduced.

Whether you’re hoping to grab Stellar cards or avoid them like the plague when they come out, it’s hard to deny that they’re going to change the competitive meta. For now, be sure to check out our full Stellar Crown hub for everything we know about the release so far.
