Steph Curry rides with Drake in Kendrick Lamar rap beef

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has explained his stance on the rap feud between the two lyrical powerhouses.

In an interview with GQ about his upcoming acting debut, the four-time NBA champion was asked if he wanted to comment on the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Curry did not hesitate to do so.

“I’m a huge Drake fan. I have been for a long time,” Curry told GQ’s Joseph Bien-Kahn. “I think you obviously know what it means for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely.”

Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry have often been spotted hanging out with Drake.

Drake has already cheered Curry on in songs like “0 to 100,” whose lyrics took the internet by storm: “I was Steph Curry with the shot. I cooked with the sauce, Chef Curry with the pot, boy.”

The dispute between Kendrick and Drake was not only an important topic in the music industry, but also in sports.

Los Angeles native Demar DeRozan, a player for the Sacramento Kings, came onstage during Lamar’s Juneteenth show after yelling at DeRozan on his hit song “Not Like Us.”

“Not Like Us” is Lamar’s fourth diss track aimed at Drake.

Russell Westbrook of the Denver Nuggets came on stage with DeRozan and LeBron James was spotted in the crowd.

Lamar’s third diss track against Drake, “Meet the Grahams,” warned Curry to stay away from the Canadian rapper.

“LeBron, keep the family away, hey, Curry, keep the family away.”

And a few weeks ago, during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, a video circulated of Curry and James warming up when Lamar’s song “Not Like Us” started playing.

Curry is heard saying, “Damn that song… It’s not the only song in America,” and James replies, “I love it.”
