“Stranger Things” star gives disappointing update on final season

Fans of Stranger Things should look forward to waiting for the premiere of the final season.

The fifth season of the legendary Netflix sci-fi series will mark its conclusion. It’s been a wild and epic journey since 2016, and it’s time to find out how it all ends.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos recently announced that the final season will premiere in 2025, but further details remain a secret.

So is a release in early 2025 possible? I wouldn’t bet on it.

When does “Stranger Things” return?

Stranger Things star Brett Gelman, who plays Murray Bauman in the series, recently spoke to Screen Rant about the final season and said the following:

Filming is going great. I think you’ll find out the same way everyone has found out in the past. You’ll probably get some teasers, a couple of teasers, and then you’ll find out what’s going to happen, which is the show. It’s obviously the most secretive thing I’ve ever worked on, but I think the fans – you included – are going to be very happy with season five. Usually, like you, they’re very understanding and understand my position, so it’s fine. A lot of people don’t want to know, a lot of people want to be surprised, but they’re on tenterhooks. It’s difficult. It’s probably going to take a minute for it to come out.”

It’s this last part that should worry fans. Hearing “it’s going to be another minute” before fans get Season 5 is less than ideal.

I’m sure fans were hoping for a return in early 2025. Maybe in January or February. After all, season four ended in July 2022.

That was more than two years ago now. However, I was always a little worried that a summer 2025 release would be the most realistic, simply because Stranger Things is notorious for its long breaks between seasons.

Hopefully Gelman is a little too pessimistic and we get new episodes sooner rather than later. Let me know what you hope to see in the final season. [email protected].
