‘Stranger Things’ star Joe Keery goes on a crime spree in the ‘Marmalade’ trailer

Marmalade, the new movie starring Joe Keery from Stranger Things, has released its first trailer.

The film follows Baron (Keery) as he reveals his past with the title character (Camila Morrone) to his cellmate Otis (Aldis Hodge). Behind bars, the two hatch an escape plan, with Baron longing to be reunited with Marmalade.

The trailer shows Baron and Marmalade’s crime spree and their growing romance as the two commit their Bonnie and Clyde-like crimes to finance the care of his sick mother.

“Marmalade has been a wonderful collaboration with the filmmaker and crew,” said producer Marc Goldberg of the project. “We are thrilled to have the brilliant Keery starring alongside rising star Morrone in this exciting story and look forward to bringing it to market to buyers.”

The project marks the directorial debut of Keir O’Donnell, who previously worked on Fargo and American Sniper. O’Donnell is also writing the screenplay. The film is set for release in the UK on April 2. 12 February.

Keery will soon return to the role of Steve Harrington for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. The star previously revealed that he had mixed feelings about the end of the Netflix series.

“It feels like it’s time. It’s not going to be easy to stop. I mean, I owe my whole career to this show and all the opportunities I’ve had since then I owe to this show.”

“So it’s very complicated. There’s a sense of relief (and) sadness. I think my goal is to soak up as much of it as we can while we’re doing it and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an incredible journey with such amazing people.”

Marmalade will be released on February 9 in the US and February 12 in the UK.
