Her stylists had to endure harsh criticism.
Fans praised Stray children‘ creative and flattering outfits since the group’s debut in 2018. Although these fashion royalty can pull off any look, Stray Kids’ stylists have come under fire for some of their styling choices. Here are, in no particular order, some of their most criticized stylings so far.
1. Lee Knows Show Champion Outfit
During the promotions for her album SPECIALStray Kids performed Show champion. Although this incredible stage showcased the members’ talent on a whole new level, not everyone was a fan of Lee Know’s styling for “MANIAC.” Fans accused Stray Kids’ stylist of compromising the idol’s safety for aesthetic reasons, noting that Lee Know’s outfit seemed to restrict his freedom of movement.
He was seen constantly trying to adjust his outfit during the stage…
…but he also slipped and fell because of his clothing.
In particular, the spiked gloves (which he tried to take off) exposed him and his members to the risk of injury.
As if that wasn’t enough, Lee Know’s shirt was hanging out of his pants and could have revealed more than the idol was comfortable with. In the past, Lee Know told STAYs that he felt uncomfortable showing his stomach because of a surgical scar.
Not only did Lee Know feel uncomfortable in this outfit, but the spikes on the sleeves obviously hurt him too. I really hope the stylists will be more careful and considerate next time. pic.twitter.com/a9bCYJUUAR

2. Hair and makeup
Strain Kids’ hair and makeup team came under fire after MBC Music Festival 2023. The makeup was too ashen and the hair too greasy, said fans who didn’t like the look.
This was the last straw, the last straw. The STAYs sent protest trucks to Stray Kids’ agency. JYP Entertainment.
Here are some of the messages displayed by the truck:
- “Crusty and split bangs, greasy and waxy hair, flat 5:5 parting, all OUT. Fix Stray Kids’ hair.”
- “Their hair and makeup are all the same even if they ignore it. What’s the point of planning album concepts? The hair and makeup team that keeps us from rewatching fancams and only cares about themselves, OUT. Division 1 that can’t understand what the audience wants, get yourselves together.”
- “The hair and makeup team that only hides the members’ strengths, out. The fan atmosphere is getting worse. If you didn’t know this, you should close your entertainment business.”
- “Your stylist? Forget it. There’s too much to say. Just change your stylist.”
3. Coca-Cola collaboration
For a joint project with Coca-ColaStray Kids wore the brand’s white, black, and red colors. Although the colors were perfect, not everyone liked the group’s unconventional, futuristic outfits.
Internet users reacted negatively to everything from the group’s red faux leather pants to Hyunjin‘s black shorts over red tights and Lee Know’s missing shirt.
- “Just wear suits or something…”
- “What about Hyunjin’s outfit? Is he a Power Ranger?”
- “Those who don’t know will blame Coca-Cola, LOL. Usually, it is JYP Entertainment that asks customers if the outfits are OK while showing them designs, and customers will agree, LOL. Why should customers choose the outfits of male idols that they themselves don’t know well? They probably leave the job to industry staff and filter out the ones they want to some extent.”
- “The fans would be really upset about that, LOL. I know because I used to be a fan of idols with crappy styling.”
- “Someone said they look like Knowledge Korea Man. Every time I see that, I think of that, LOL.”
- “I thought the fourth from the left was wearing underwear.”
- “I doubt Coca-Cola would have forced her to wear them, and although the commercial had a theme… I was surprised when I saw them.”
4. Lee Knows “S-Class” outfit
Fans took to social media to vent their displeasure after Lee Know performed stunt choreography for “S-Class” in this outfit. While executing the kick, which he usually executes flawlessly, Lee Know stumbled.
After watching the clip, fans criticized Stray Kids’ stylists for putting Lee Know’s shoes on, which made the stunt more difficult.
5. Felix MetGala 2024 Outfit
This year, Stray Kids were the first K-pop group to participate in the MET Gala. Some fans were disappointed with the understated styling, which included subtle floral accents for the garden theme. Felix’s outfit in particular was criticized as disappointing.
Since Felix has naturally elf-like features and a talent for wearing even the most dramatic outfits, some fans had wished that he would dress a little more extravagantly.
Kind of a shame, because the designer could have dealt more with the topic instead of wearing boring suits. It’s the Met Gala, where fashion and creativity should be the focus. I’m sick of designers always taking the easy way out of shit (this is not directed at SKZ, but at the designers themselves https://t.co/5SmRaCt1Cq pic.twitter.com/VKsRfnvaj6
