Summer Unbound Spotlight: Price Strickland

Prep Baseball Georgia
staff

Undecided. The right-handed pitcher is coming off an incredible summer, making one good start after another. On the mound, the operation is effortless for Strickland as the 6-foot-4, 175-pound senior gets downhill with ease. He was able to boast an excellent 15 BB/41 K ratio, highlighting his awkward ability to throw strikes. An intriguing four-pitch mix that consistently keeps hitters off balance and creates weak contact. Fastball is in the mid-80s with arm-side run. A tighter slider shown at just under 70. Curveball has a chance to be a separator as it is shown at just under 70 and creates depth, tunneled off the fastball to create some ugly swings and mishits. Change-up at just under to mid-70s is mixed in as the RHP shows good instincts to land it for strikes. In 47 innings, Strickland had a 1.04 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. The overall pitchability jumps out at you, as Strickland will be a name to keep an eye on in his final season.
