Sydney Sweeney talks about the euphoria Jumping forward in season three and returning to the character three years after I last played her in season two in 2022.
The two-time Emmy nominee won Cosmopolitan as her summer vacation comes to an end and she prepares to play the lead role in Barbarella Remake of the 1968 film of the same name with Jane Fonda in the title role.
When asked how it feels to return to euphoriaShe explained that this will be her first time in many years to reprise her role as Cassie Howard for the third season, which is scheduled to begin production in January 2025.
“There was a lot of time between season one and season two, but especially now with the time jump, it’s a new process for me,” she told the publication. “I’m just learning as I go and I’m open to whatever comes. But I’m also really excited. I love Cassie. She’s always such an exciting character, so I’m really looking forward to what’s going to happen in her life.”
When asked what she is most looking forward to about returning to the set for the long-awaited third installment, she revealed that she always feels like coming home to her family when she is reunited with her co-stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and others.
“They were the crew and cast that were there at the beginning of my career,” Sweeney said. “We all came from different places but came together and had to deal with so much at the same time, so it’s really nice to have that core group. They’re going through something similar to what I’m going through. It’s nice to have that community.”
The Everyone except you Star and producer spoke briefly about euphoria season three in March, but has not commented on the subject since. When asked by MTV’s Josh Horowitz if she plans to take a break after two press tours for the romantic comedy, she replied: Madame Web And ImmaculateSweeney said she would jump straight into the hit HBO series.
After her comment went viral and people began to hope that the show would return sooner rather than later, she admitted that talking about it “feels just as scary as talking about Marvel,” which is why she hasn’t said much since.
Two days later, HBO announced that filming on the third season had been postponed indefinitely and that the cast could “look for other opportunities.” In July, the network announced a production date of early next year.
