Taylor Russell calls Dona Drake a “beauty icon”

Taylor Russell says Dona Drake is “a beauty icon.”

The “Bones and All” star described the actress and singer, who rose to fame in the ’30s and ’40s and died in 1989 at the age of 74, as “super smart” and also revealed that she was a fan of “1930s icon” Louise Brooks, star of the 1929 film “Pandora’s Box.”

The 28-year-old actress told British Vogue magazine for its 2023 Hollywood portfolio: “I’m totally into Louise Brooks, an icon of the 1930s. I also love Dona Drake. She’s a beauty icon and also super smart.”

When asked if she could play any role in the world, Taylor stated that her “only dream” was the role of the “Rosario Dawson interlude” on the 2003 OutKast album “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.”

She said: “My answer to that doesn’t come from a movie, it comes from ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’ by OutKast. Rosario Dawson’s interlude on that album is the only thing I’d like to do.”

The former “Lost in Space” actress has revealed that if she weren’t working in Hollywood, she imagines herself working with young children, as she adores them, and “playing games” with them.

Taylor said, “I would be a kindergarten teacher. I love children and I love playing.”

The “Escape Room” star admitted that the best perk of being a performer in the industry is “learning” from her predecessors and their “wisdom.”

Taylor said, “I’ve learned from other actors who have walked paths I’d like to walk and who can offer me a lot of wisdom.”
