Travis Kelce is destined for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the tight end owes his success to another Kansas City Chiefs legend. Of course, that teammate is three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
Like any great duo in professional sports, Kelce and Mahomes have grown close and have a brotherly bond, but even family can’t make you do things.
Mahomes does not have this power over Kelce – Taylor Swift, on the other hand, clearly does.
During an interview with former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith and co-host Bruce Murray on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s “Town Hall from Training Camp,” Mahomes complained that Kelce doesn’t listen to him when it comes to hairstyle suggestions.
“I was trying to get him to grow his hair,” Mahomes said, “and then all of a sudden Taylor makes him do it.”
“I can’t imagine why,” Murray joked, laughing.
This is an indication that the relationship of the most famous sports couple in the world must remain strong.
While Swift entertained tens of thousands of fans at each stop on The Eras Tour in Europe, Kelce was busy at Chiefs training camp preparing for his 12th NFL season and his historic third consecutive Super Bowl.
To the NFL’s great delight, this will also be Kelce and Swift’s second season together.
Last year, the league benefited from the “Swift effect,” as Swift’s fans tuned into Chiefs games just to catch a glimpse of Swift in the stands. Swift’s fans were just as excited about Kelce.
It is unknown if Swift also suggested that Kelce wear his mustache again. Apparently it was his idea and he seems very proud of his decision.
