The Chiefs tight end not only grew his hair and mustache, but also trimmed his beard.
Patrick Mahomes reveals the influence Taylor Swift had on Travis Kelce’s life. On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback revealed in a special town hall show with SiriusXM NFL Radio that the 34-year-old athlete grew his hair longer because of his pop star girlfriend.

“I was trying to get him to grow his hair longer and all of a sudden Taylor is making him do it,” the 28-year-old NFL star said of his Chiefs teammate. Kelce wore a buzzcut fade all summer before returning to training camp in late July with longer hair.

After his return, fans soon noticed that Kelce grew out both his mustache and his hair. The Chiefs tight end also trimmed his signature long beard. While Swift may be the reason for this change in his appearance, she was previously enamored with his buzzcut.
In February, Kelce’s hairdresser Patrick Regan told Fox News, “Taylor loves the haircut. She’s watched me cut my hair several times and always compliments me afterward.” Regan also revealed that he often gives the host of the podcast “New Heights” a “skin fade” or “bald fade” haircut.

Kelce’s previous, much shorter haircut is one of the most popular styles that clients ask for. “It’s kind of ironic because it’s a haircut that barbers have been giving their clients all day, every day for 100 years,” Regan continued, before saying it shows “what an icon Trav is.”
Following a New York Times article that dubbed his hairstyle the “Travis Kelce Haircut,” the NFL star denied claims that he invented it. “Can you stop telling people I invented the fade? I didn’t. I walked into the barbershop one day and I didn’t even know what I was getting. I didn’t invent the fade,” Kelce said on his podcast in February.
