Taylor Swift sings “London Boy” for the first time on the Eras tour

She may not like “London Boy” anymore, but Taylor Swift made sure to perform the song properly at Wembley Stadium.

As part of her surprise song session on Friday (August 16), the superstar told the London audience that she loves “the English” before launching into a fan favorite. lover Track, presumably about her British ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. To the delight of Swifties, she changed a line in the last chorus and sang: “I like playing at Wembley.”

She followed the track with two more surprise songs: Speak Now‘s “Dear John” and Red‘s “Sad Beautiful Tragic.” Fans on Twitter also speculated that the song choice could be a dig at Alwyn, pointing out lyrics like, “I shine like fireworks over your sad, empty city” and “What a sad, beautiful, tragic love affair.”

Alwyn and Swift split in April 2023, around the time the pop star kicked off her record-breaking The Eras Tour in North America. After a brief fling with The 1975’s Matty Healy, the “Fortnight” singer began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in the summer of that year, and the duo have been a couple ever since.
