TEAM Tilley provides free training and technology to disadvantaged farmers in Georgia

play

A new resource is available to help local farmers better understand their operations.

The TEAM Tilley Leaders Program is an outreach program for Black and underserved farmers in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The goal is to teach them how to manage risk and increase profitability using the financial data from their own farms through hands-on training and a customized technology called “Tilley.”

Participants will learn how to integrate financial decisions into routine farm operations, run risk scenarios in real time, and receive financial scorecards for their farm and print-ready loan documents. Courses will be delivered in the form of self-directed instructional presentations and videos, hands-on labs, live instructor-led webinars, and three in-person workshops (dates and locations to be announced).

Although farmers’ data will be used for the curriculum, Tilley has confirmed that it will be kept confidential and not shared with outside agencies or companies.

This is a free program funded by a grant from a cooperative agreement with the USDA Risk Management Agency.

To apply, applicants must submit the following documents: FSA-578, CCC-866, an updated APH report, and an insurance plan. For more information, visit teamtilley.com.
