Temperatures will rise in the coming days, but the outlook will be a little better next weekend

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Heat index on Monday afternoon again at 105°-110°

  • Temperatures will rise by several degrees in the coming days

  • Until next weekend isolated rain possible, *slight* drop in temperature

FORECAST DETAILS:

I hope you had a great weekend and are staying cool out there!

Sunday was the 22nd day of triple-digit temperatures in San Antonio so far this year, and there will be more in the coming work week.

Evening temperatures will drop into the high 30s under mostly clear skies. If you look east-southeast after 8pm, you’ll likely notice August’s Sturgeon Moon, which will be officially full tomorrow!

Monday will start warm and humid, with lows of just under 25 degrees in the morning as the kids head to the bus stop. Thanks to plenty of sunshine, highs will rise to around 39 degrees in San Antonio on Monday afternoon, but humidity will make them feel more like 40 to 43 degrees for a few hours.

Make sure any students who stay after school for sports or band practice stay hydrated! This will be important again this week as temperatures will rise a few degrees (closer to 105°) on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For children heading back to school, another hot day is on the agenda with highs in the triple digits in San Antonio.

While it could get a little worse before the thermometer gets better, there is hope for some changes by next weekend. The high pressure system is moving slightly north, allowing a disturbance to move into South Texas. This could bring a little more cloud cover and a scattered chance of rain back into the forecast, along with slightly “cooler” temperatures with highs in the 35 to 40 degrees.

We’ll keep you updated over the next few days. Until then – stay cool out there and have a great week! ~ Mia
