Country singer and native Texan Miranda Lambert brings the honky tonk to Austin, Texas. And best of all, you’re invited to attend the free show!
To prepare for the release of her tenth studio album, Postcards from Texas, Lambert is hosting a free pop-up concert at Stubb’s, 801 Red River St., Austin, on Friday, August 23. Since she recorded the album, which is her debut on Republic Records, at Austin’s legendary Arlyn Studios, it makes all the more sense for Lambert to host a pre-release party in the capital city.
If you want to attend the show, you’ll first need to get a wristband. To try your luck and snag one for Lambert’s free concert, stop by the Stubb’s box office starting at noon Friday. Wristbands will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, and there’s a limit of one wristband per person.
Once all wristbands have been issued, no more wristbands will be issued and no one without a wristband will be allowed into Stubb’s. Doors to the show open at 5pm on Friday and the concert begins at 6pm.
“Postcards from Texas” is due Friday, September 13th.
In a press release for the album’s third single, “Alimony,” which describes a failing marriage in Lambert’s tongue-in-cheek style, the Texan said, “My parents were private investigators in Dallas, Texas, working a lot of divorce cases in upscale parts of town, so that wasn’t hard to write. I’d heard about it my whole life.”
