The 11 best cheap Premier League players for your FIFA 18 Ultimate Team

FIFA Ultimate Team is back and better than ever – but with it comes the arduous task of building an entirely new squad to compete in online and single-player seasons, as well as the many upcoming weekend leagues.

Premier League players are generally overpriced compared to their counterparts in other European leagues, but fortunately the English top flight is still stocked with plenty of quality players who won’t eat up all of your virtual currency.

(Please note: Player prices will likely increase as the first Weekend League approaches, so snap up those players quickly.)

Asmir Begovic (GK)

Possible costs: 2.8k

It is much more difficult to defend in FIFA18so a world-class save from your goalkeeper can mean the difference between a win and a hair-raising defeat. That’s why you need a competent goalkeeper between your posts.

With a rating of 83, Begovic is capable of making similar saves to David de Gea and Gigi Buffon. With 82 reflexes, the former Chelsea player is expected to frustrate his opponent.

Davide Zappacosta (RB)

Possible costs: 4.4k

Zappacosta arrived at Chelsea with a bang and scored a world-class goal (even admitting it was a fluke) against Qarabag in September, which immediately put Victor Moses’ place in danger. He is not bad in FIFA18 nor does he, as he has attributes that make him an additional attacking option in your team if you want to overlap your full-backs at every opportunity.

Thanks to his 82 speed, the Italian can keep up with most players and his crossing ability is deadly when combined with a strong striker.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

Possible costs: 1.4k

After proving his skills on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach over the past two seasons, Christensen has finally been called up by Antonio Conte for a more important role in his team, a role that is likely to become even more important as the season progresses.

However, he doesn’t have to wait for his chance on your team – the Dane is good enough to man your defense and thwart incoming attacks early on.

Eliaquim Mangala (IV)

Possible costs: 3.5km

We should not forget that Mangala was once the most expensive defender in British football, but given that he was a peripheral player in Pep Guardiola’s team for a long time, the Frenchman is probably not the first goalkeeper that springs to mind.

Mangala, however, is borderline OP (‘overpowered’; good value) in FIFA18With 85 physicality and 79 defense, he will become a wall in your defense line.

Sead Kolasinac (LB)

Possible costs: 2.6k

Over the years, Arsenal newcomer Kolasinac has earned a reputation for his enormous power and good pace (ratings of 91 and 78 respectively in FIFA18).

The Bosnian can force anyone off the ball and is capable of making dangerous strides forward thanks to his excellent physical attributes. Kolasniac’s pace and defensive skills make him a versatile player who can be used in different systems, defensive or ultra-offensive.

Adam Lallana (CM)

Possible costs: 15,000

A combination of power and elegance is essential to the success of a FUT team – and Lallana offers the latter in abundance. As a four-star skiller, the former Saint can help you get out of tight situations and distribute the ball precisely to your strikers. The Liverpool player also has a five-star weak foot, allowing him to be effective from many different spots on the pitch.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

Possible costs: 6km

N’Golo Kante would feature in any midfield if he wasn’t so expensive this year, however, he has a good alternative in the form of Liverpool workhorse Henderson. Although he was originally a centre-back, you can use Henderson as a midfielder without compromising his individual chemistry by using a Premier League manager or playing 10 games with him to gain loyalty.

Henderson’s strengths in the game are intercepting balls and passing them to his teammates in Kante style – without the explosive pace and dribbling. The Liverpool player also shoots pretty well, so there shouldn’t be much of a problem firing balls into the top corner.

Dusan Tadic (ZOM)

Possible costs: 2K

Tadic draws parallels to Lallana as he is an effective dribbler, a four-star skill player and a good passer.

He is a little one-footed, however – his right foot has two stars – but the Serb is still a player with decent flair for the No. 10 role. He offers a lot more for his money than you would expect given his measly price tag on the transfer market at the time of writing.

Sofiane Boufal (LW)

Possible costs: 3.7k

Boufal is a must-have for any budget Premier League FUT side thanks to his 5-star skill rating, 4-star weak foot and blistering pace. He may not regularly make headlines in real life, but the Moroccan is sure to be a key player for your side – especially if you know how to use the right analogue stick. Think of him as the Franck Ribery of the Premier League. FIFA.

Wilfried Zaha (RW)

Possible costs: 3.3k

Despite Crystal Palace’s shaky 2016/17 campaign, Zaha had an outstanding individual season and gained recognition as one of the league’s best players.

As with Henderson, the fact that Zaha is originally a RM doesn’t affect his individual chemistry as long as you have a Premier League manager or play 10 games with him to gain loyalty. For a winger, he has great physicality, making him difficult to get off the ball (assuming you’re not battling a beast).

Michy Batshuayi (ST)

Possible costs: 2.3k

When he is not scoring own goals for Spurs, Batshuayi can be a very dangerous striker. He is by far not the best passer in FIFA18but in the position of centre-forward in attack, it can be assumed that the Belgian striker will regularly cause problems for the goalkeepers.

Given that we have players with excellent crossing stats in our budget team, it’s quite possible that you’ll get plenty of headers with Batshuayi.
