The birthday parties on the last day of the Wayne County Fair’s 175th anniversary celebration were a real crowd puller.

Day 2 of the birthday celebration began with the Northern Ohio Outlaw Mounted Shooting event in the horse arena and the mullet and beard contests in the entertainment tent.

Mullets and beards of all sizes were on display as contestants competed for cash prizes.

Following the hairy competitions, the crowd cheered on the participants in Lerch’s Donut Eating Contest. The youth class participants had to eat four donuts, while the adults got five.

The Youth Class Champion was named after an actual photo finish, with judges making their decision after watching a video of the champion run several times.

A cinnamon roll baking competition with 38 participants and food samples from the American Chuck Wagon Association were also on the program for visitors.

Spring Mist Farm brought animals for a petting zoo and animal show, which were popular events, as well as tractor pedal pulls for youth and adults.
