The Android version of the Google Keep app can now create the AI-generated lists you request

Google Keep is an underrated app that lets you take notes, create shopping lists, and more. The app is available for iOS and Android, and we’re writing about the Android variant of the app that’s available on the Play Store. Back in March, we told you that Google Keep is getting a new feature that uses artificial intelligence to create a new list. The feature, called “Help me make a list,” is now rolling out to Android users.
Powered by Gemini, Google randomly mentioned “Help me make a list” when unveiling the Pixel 9 series. With this feature, the AI not only helps you create a list but also fills it out. For example, let’s say you create a new Google Keep note. Open the app and press the “+” button. Then another button will appear that says “Help me make a list.” Press it and you’ll see a field where you enter the type of list you need.
In my example, I typed “diabetic shopping list.” When I was done, I tapped the “Create” button and the list appeared. You can then paste the note into an empty list or have it recreated when you need it. The feature is now rolling out to all Android phones running Google Keep version v5.24.322.01.90 and this build of Keep with “Help me make a list” has been tested on several Android phones including my Pixel 6 Pro running the latest beta of Android 15.

If you want to disable this feature, tap the hamburger menu icon in the top left of the display. Press “Settings” and at the very bottom of the page you’ll find a switch you can turn off to disable “Help me make a list.” But here’s the weird thing: This toggle is only available in a subsequent version of the Keep app for Android, version 2.24.332.02.90. That version isn’t on my Pixel 6 Pro and apparently this second build with the toggle switch was only deployed on a few devices. Fortunately, this build is not required for the “Help me make a list” feature to work in the Google Keep app for Android.

If you have Google Keep on your Android phoneclick this link. Although the iOS version of the app does not offer “Help me make a list”, the app is still very useful and you can download it to your iPhone from the App Store by clicking this link.
