The Bemidji Senior Center offers bus trips to the Iron Range in southern Minnesota

BEMIDJI – The Bemidji Senior Center is offering a bus trip to explore Minnesota’s Iron Range on Thursday, Sept. 12, and a three-day tour of southern Minnesota Oct. 1-3.

The bus departs the Cenex South Parking Lot, 120 Convenience Lane SW at 7:30 a.m. and returns approximately 7:15 p.m.

In the morning, participants can explore the Hibbing area with an experienced local guide, stopping at the Hull Rust Mine Niew, the Historic Hibbing High School and the Greyhound Bus Museum.

The tour then continues to Chishold where a buffet lunch is served. After lunch, participants visit the Minnesota Mining Museum and Minnesota Discovery Center and take a trolley tour of Glen, an old mining town.

There will be moderate walking on this trip.

Cost is $125 for members and $45 for non-members. Tour includes: bus transportation, all activities described, buffet lunch, packed lunch for the journey home, gratuity for the tour guide. Gratuities for the driver are not included and will be given in an envelope at the end of the tour.

Fall Adventures in Bluff Country

There will be a three-day, two-night bus trip to southern Minnesota along Lake Pepin and the Mississippi.

Highlights of the trip include a presentation at the National Eagle Center, a guided tour of Winona, Garvin Heights Overlook, a narrated boat cruise on the Mississippi River, a tour of the Willet-Hauser Stained Glass Studio and the Maiden Rock apple orchard, winery and cider press.

Two hot breakfasts, three lunches and three dinners are included in the price.

This is a medium difficulty activity and no refunds are available after August 31st. Travel insurance is recommended. Gratuities for the driver or local guide who climbs up are not included in the price.
