The documentary series on the history of hair metal is coming

On September 17th – one day later worldwide – the documentary series will premiere in the USA “Nothing but a good time: The uncensored history of 80s hair metal”inspired by the book of the same name, which covers the golden years of the genre.

Combining hard rock, glam rock, hair, sequins and lots of fun, Hair Metal practically marked a decade in the history of rock and roll, mainly in the United States. Journalists Tom Beaujour And Richard Beehive They signed the book“Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of the Hard Rock Explosion of the Eighties” –published in Spain by the publisher Neo Sounds– in which many of the movement’s biggest stars were interviewed. Musicians from all over the world appear on its pages. Poison, WASP, Ratt, Skid Row, Extreme, Cinderella, Guns N’ Roses, Twisted Sister, Winger, Mötley Crüe, Warrant, White Lion and even Def Leppard.

Now the book has been made into a documentary series, which will premiere on 17 September – and a day later internationally – on Paramount+ and which, in three chapters, summarizes the birth of a genre with surprising success that has marked an entire generation and left traces that have aged in many aspects but are still fresh in others. So we will see a large part of these musicians talk about those years, with guests such as the comedian Steve O (“Donkey”) either Corey Taylor (Slipknot), who signed the foreword to the book.

The production is directed by Jeff Tremaine (known for his work in “Donkey” And “The dirt”the film, which in turn was inspired by the story of Mötley Crüe) and it will certainly be a lot of fun for us to rediscover these years or to discover them if we do not have too many references in this regard.
