Tim Allen and Kat Dennings’ new sitcom has officially been given the green light

Tim Allen returns to the world of sitcoms together with MCU star Kat Dennings.

“To be honest, getting to play her was probably the greatest gift of my life,” Kinney said of the role of Mimi Bobeck in a previous interview, according to Parade. “I think my shyness and vulnerability shaped Mimi, and the gift I was given was being able to stand up for myself and set clear boundaries. (Mimi) put on her war paint, walked out and said, ‘I stand up for myself. And no one is going to take advantage of me.’ And that’s what I loved about her, and that’s what I gained. I stand up for myself.”

She added: “It was about me playing this woman who had the biggest, best self-esteem in the world, you know. And the distance between my real personality and the character Mimi got smaller and smaller until we kind of merged. Now I don’t wear blue eyeshadow anymore – actually, I’m really happy not to wear makeup at all anymore. But I think, you know, everyone should have the opportunity or be given the gift of playing someone as vibrant as her, because it definitely changed my life for the better.”
