The Duchess of Cambridge’s self-styled hair is an example of how to keep it simple

From Harper’s BAZAAR

We are used to seeing the Duchess of Cambridge with perfectly groomed hair: a sun-kissed shine combined with loosely curled blow-dried hairstyles has become her trademark.

And while it’s easy to look so perfectly styled with a team of experts on speed dial, the Duchess demonstrated her own flair for styling this week.

Appearing alongside the Duke of Cambridge on the Kensington Royal Instagram page for Burns Night, Middleton looked chic and understated with her medium brown hair styled simple and straight. A slightly off-centre parting added some volume at the front, while the ends were subtly curved inwards for a softer result.

In the video, the couple thanked the NHS for their tireless and important work and announced their collaboration with NHS Charities Together, Scottish food and wine specialists Valvona & Crolla and family-run bakery Fisher and Donaldson to host a Burns celebration lunch for NHS Tayside teams.

The Duchess also demonstrated how styling can completely transform an outfit: her absolute favourite tartan set by Emilia Wickstead has been photographed many times at previous events, but looked completely fresh thanks to the simple hairstyle and chic gold pearl earrings.

Finished off with a warm brown smokey eye, the look was modern and subtle at the same time. We’ll keep it in mind for our next Zoom meeting.
