It’s no secret that Emma Stone is a hair color chameleon. She may be known for her coppery locks, but the actress is actually a natural blonde; she’s also had platinum blonde, she’s had strawberry blonde, she’s tried auburn, and now she’s sporting a rich espresso shade.
Anyone with colour-treated hair will know that changing the colour can be quite a challenge – especially if you opt for something more drastic like platinum. So it’s worth having an arsenal of buttery masks, bond-building treatments and repairing serums on hand to keep your hair luscious and vibrant.
Stone’s product of choice happens to be a brand new formula from her longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak, whose Rōz brand enjoys cult status for its mane-strengthening hair care and styling products. (This Willow Glen Treatment Oil is a particular winner among WWW editors!) Below, get all the details on the launch and how it’s kept Stone’s espresso locks soft and shiny.
Today, the brand released their new Foundation Mask, a thicker conditioning formula for extra moisture and repair. By the way, I absolutely love everything Rōz has to offer, but if I had to choose, the Foundation Shampoo and Conditioner would be my absolute favorites; the shampoo is gentle but effectively refreshes my scalp, and the conditioner is light yet buttery enough to deeply moisturize my thick but fine 2c mane. Plus, they smell incredible! I test a ton of shampoos and conditioners for my job, but I reach for Rōz when my hair really needs some TLC. I know it’s just factories.
Since this new mask is an extension of the Foundation range, I have a strong feeling I’m going to be obsessed with it. I usually use hair masks instead of conditioner anyway (since I only wash it two to three times a week) and I’ve been patiently waiting for Rōz to offer a richer blend. Consider my wish granted.
Roszak has been testing the new launch on Stone for a few months (as she has with some of her products, like the Air Thickening Spray), especially before the star walked the red carpet at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. There, Stone actually sported a chocolate-copper hair color, made even more vibrant by the mask’s proprietary BotaniComplex. The special ingredient helps maintain hair color—in addition to reducing breakage and improving elasticity—which only further enhanced her soft, mermaid-like waves as she floated down the carpet. Stone debuted a deeper espresso shade (styled by Roszak!) at the Types of kindness Premiered last June, we can assume the mask is similarly responsible for its glossy, “liquid” shine. Because once you fall in love with a Rōz product, you rarely put it down until the last drop.
