The heated rivalry between Brandeis and O’Connor is the focus of Thursday Night Lights

SAN ANTONIO – Brandeis and O’Connor – two teams with a lot to prove right from the start, not to mention the heated rivalry between the two schools in the season debut of Taco Cabana’s “Thursday Night Lights” presented by the Gamez Law Firm.

There is a lot that is new for both teams this season.

A new head coach at Brandeis in Kemmie Lewis and two new coordinators for David Malesky at O’Connor.

Lewis is the same man who was Harlan’s defensive coordinator a season ago and who completely turned around the Memorial program as head coach not long ago.

Brandeis finished 5-6 overall last season and had a 4-4 record in District 28-6A. The Broncos lost 42-14 to the Steele Knights in the Class 6A Division II Bidistrict.

O’Connor is looking to rebound from last season, when the team finished 3-7 overall and 3-5 in District 29-6A.

Perhaps more passing this season and a new defensive scheme for the Panthers as they welcome a new offensive and defensive coordinator this fall.

Farris Stadium is almost sold out, because who doesn’t want to see that?

SNEAKERS AND PRIDE SHOES

CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys finally agree to a huge deal that makes him the second highest-paid receiver in NFL history. Matt Roy and Chuck Miketinac react to the signing. Plus: How worrisome is DaRon Bland’s injury for Dallas? And why are Jerry Jones and the coaching staff so intrigued by Trey Lance?
