Bill Walton, former Boston Celtics player and well-known Grateful Dead fan, has not only made it into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, but also into the NBA’s 50th and 75th anniversary lists. And this despite the fact that the former UCLA star started a total of 117 games during his professional career!
That fact — as well as the reasons why Walton ended up in such heady company — was discussed at length in a recent video by popular NBA YouTuber Clayton Crowley. Unfulfilled potential is another important theme, considering how many injuries have hampered the Celtics champion, who won a title with the team in 1986 and another during his time with the Portland Trail Blazers.
He also won two NCAA titles while playing under legendary college head coach John Wooden. Watch the clip embedded below to hear Crowley’s assessment of one of Boston’s greatest big men. Rest in peace!
