The Marietta History Center presents “The Secrets and Scandals of Colonial Georgia.”

The Marietta History Center (MHC) announced on the City of Marietta website that the first event of its fall program will feature Amy Albers, assistant library clerk at the Georgia Room.

On Monday, September 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Marietta History Center, Albers will give a lecture titled “The Secrets and Scandals of Colonial Georgia.”

According to the announcement:

This lecture promises exciting insights into the lesser-known aspects of Georgia’s colonial history and sheds light on the secrets and scandals that have shaped the region. Ms. Albers will be available to answer questions after her lecture.

Albers holds a master’s degree in library and information science from Valdosta State University.

She lives in Marietta and assists guests with genealogy and history research at the Georgia Room. She also writes freelance on topics such as “travel, parenting and books.”

The MHC recommends that you purchase your tickets in advance through our website. A refund of the entrance fee will only be made if the event is cancelled.

About the Marietta History Center

The Marietta History Center is located at 1 Depot St, Marietta, GA 30060, adjacent to the western edge of Marietta Square, across from the railroad tracks.

The center is housed in the historic Kennesaw House, which at various times was a cotton warehouse, a hotel, and a Civil War-era morgue and hospital.

The museum opened in 1996 and has been an official facility of the City of Marietta since 2018.
