A rare chance to shine
It’s not every day that an unusual card finds its way into the top tier of a set, but with Charizard, anything is possible. If you’ve ever doubted the popularity of this fire starter, you’ll be shocked by the sheer number of Charizard cards you’re about to see.
This card is often found in near mint (NM) or lightly played (LP) condition, but is rarely found in heavily played (HP) condition.
This card sells very often in near mint condition, with retail prices in this condition ranging from $11 to $19. If you’re willing to settle for a moderately played (MP) copy, you can buy this card for about five dollars, but they don’t come up for sale very often.

Charizard is an omnipresent part of the Pokemon TCG, and appears just as often in Generations, this time with an Ultra Rare upgrade from the Uncommon artwork that started it. Despite regular appearances among the best cards in several sets, however, not even Charizard is immune to slumps.
This Charizard EX drops from over $15 but doesn’t crash as it maintains a relatively similar value despite a clear downward trend. LP copies drop into single digits as condition keeps this Charizard’s average value in check.

7 Sylveon EX (Extremely Rare) – $17.90
Chasing the pack
Charizard and Gardevoir are extremely popular Pokémon, but Generations wouldn’t be a celebration of the most popular Pokémon without including some adorable Eeveelution illustrations.
This is the first of two versions of Generations featuring the Sylveon and Eevee pair.
Sylveon started off on a high at around $11 and rose in value to over $20 before dropping slightly with a minor price correction. While this card remains below this important mark, it is not the only Eeveelution that has failed to get back into the 20s, so it may need to see a positive trend in the Pokemon it has ahead of it first.
6 Flareon EX (Extremely Rare) – $19.41

Although Flareon is the only Eeveelution featured on this adorable Ultra Rare, it makes the most of its space as it is surrounded by a collection of bright pink hearts to match the shimmering sparkle.

While NM copies can’t quite break the $20 mark, this Flareon in LP condition is selling for over $15, suggesting that demand is high enough to establish a strong base in the $15 range. While nothing is certain, the chances of breaking the $20 mark are good.
5 M Gardevoir EX (Full Screen) – $20.90
A two-for-one offer
This stunning Gardevoir card set the stage for the Sun and Moon era and introduced incredibly valuable duos in Team Up, one of the best sets featuring popular Pokémon in perfect pairings.
The glossy and regular palettes complement the dark background of this card perfectly.
Although there has been a moderate drop, this NM condition Gardevoir has maintained a relatively consistent value around the $20 mark, and on its worst days is only a few cents below that. If you are willing to settle for a MP copy, This card can be yours for under ten dollars.
4 Pikachu (Full Screen) – $22.07

Pikachu is a powerhouse in the world of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Some of the most valuable Pikachu cards have unmatched, sky-high prices. This card is worth every dollar and more because you get lots of Pikachu for every dollar, with four cute little electric mice fight for position on this beautiful map.
Unlike some other expensive generation cards, this Pikachu retains relatively high value regardless of its condition, as it ranges from $10 to $20 in LP or NM condition. Some damaged copies can still sell for about six dollars, but you might be able to get one in perfect condition for a little more.
3 Sylveon EX (Fullscreen) – $33.19

Sylveon shares its spot with Eevee, as this valuable Eeveelution card continues the trend of top-notch team-ups with some wonderfully fitting pairings.
Sylveon rarely gets the spotlight alongside Eevee, as they usually appear in an ensemble with the other evolutions but rarely get artwork that lets them shine as a duo.
While Sylveon has a decisive Decline from the $37 area to the current value, It maintains a considerable distance from the rest, securing a place among the three most valuable generation cards.
2 Flareon EX (Fullscreen) – $46.36
Some help from friends
Undoubtedly one of the best Flareon cards of all time, this Flareon EX features a surprise cameo from two original Eeveelutions, Vaporeon and Jolteon. The trio share the card fairly evenly, although Flareon takes center stage and is the only Pokémon to have both eyes completely within the card’s borders.
The condition can greatly change the value of Flareon EX, depending on which category it falls into. LP copies can be purchased for around $20-25, while NM copies cost just over $50. Flareon continues to climb the charts, Jump from the $30 mark to the current high.
