10 Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem (UTR) – $17.62

Power the ancient gear golems

Ultimate Ancient Equipment Golem - Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Art.

In a time when Ultimate Rare cards were included in regular sets, getting an Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem is a treat. It has special textured card art that feels good and is mostly reserved for OTS packs in modern Yu-Gi-Oh!

The Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem must be summoned by Fusion Summoned, but once on the field, it can inflict piercing damage to Defense Position monsters. With a massive 4400 attack, it’s sure to deal a lot of damage. When destroyed, it can be turned into another Ancient Gear Golem in your Graveyard.

9 Replacement ad – $18.69

An old FTK method

Replacement YGO card art.

Substitoad is a card that was banned years ago due to its power. Without a once-per-turn clause, Substitoad can spawn almost any frog monster in your deck except Frog the Jam. This made it a perfect way to defeat your opponent on the first turn.

By tributing a monster, you can spawn another frog monster to take its place. Combined with Ronintoad, this makes for a deadly combination. Although the card is rare in the set, it is expensive.

8 Celestia, Lightsworn Angel – $38.35

Mill cards and clear the field

Celestia, Lightsworn Angel Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Art.

Another extremely rare card that makes a perfect addition to your collection is Celestia, Lightsworn Angel. Celestia is a level five monster, meaning you can Tribute Summon her using just one monster. If you do so using a Lightsworn monster, you can activate her Ability.

When you summon this way, you can immediately mill four cards from the top of your Deck, triggering other Graveyard effects. You can also destroy up to two cards on your opponent’s field. This lets you get rid of their powerful monsters or eliminate the back row where deadly Trap Cards might be hiding.

7 Ehren, Lightsworn Monk – $41.33

Send monsters in defense position back to the deck

Ehren, Lightsworn Monk Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Art.

Honor, Lightsworn Monk may not seem as powerful in today’s meta, but it was once a great way to get rid of flip monsters and high defense walls by sending them back to the deck instead of colliding with them.

This is a good method of removal if you can put your opponent’s best monster in Defense Position. It also lets you send three cards to the Graveyard at the end of your turn. This, like many other Lightsworn monsters, can help you fill your Graveyard.

6 Honest (Secret Rare) – $44.93

A light conspiracy hand trap

Honest Yu-Gi-Oh! card art.

Honest is one of the original hand traps before such a card category existed. It can support your Lightsworn monsters by allowing you to increase their attack power in battle, meaning your Lightsworn monster is close to being defeated by your opponent’s monster.

Send Honest to the Graveyard and your Lightsworn monster can receive the attack of your opponent’s monster as a boost. Now your opponent will be the one to clash with your monster; he loses a body on the board and will need something even stronger to defeat it this turn.

5 Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo – $53.33

A modern lock

Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Art.

Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo is one of the deadliest Lock Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! Just by being on the field, it prevents your opponent from Special Summoning monsters until they take care of it. This can cause them to miss their first Main Phase unless they have another way to get rid of Fossil Dyna.

Since many decks revolve around Special Summon monsters, any card that can prevent that on the first turn can give you the win. Just make sure they have no way out.

4 Solar charging – $66.01

The ultimate drawing machine

Yu-Gi-Oh! Solar Charge Card Art.

When an archetype has a built-in draw engine, it’s the best thing in the world. The Lightsworn archetype happens to have one of the best draw cards. This is Solar Recharge and it’s available in Ultimate Rare, which gives it this glorious texture.

Draw two cards by discarding a Lightworm monster and sending the top two cards of your Deck to the Graveyard. In a Lightworm deck, this is a real value-add, since sending cards to the Graveyard is necessary to get the Deck moving, and drawing two cards helps you get the cards you need into your hand.

3 Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress – $68.38

The most striking distance map

Lyla, Princess of Light, Yu-Gi-Oh! card art.

Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress is a nice removal card that still gives you benefits by funneling cards from your deck to the graveyard. A Normal Summon is usually one of the most important things you can do, and Lyla can not only flow cards, but also secondly remove your opponent’s Spells or Traps.

You can perform this removal by putting it in Defense Position. Fortunately, you can do this in the same turn that you summon it with the built-in effect. The only downside is that you can’t change battle positions until the end of your next turn.

2 Honest (Ghost Rare) – $84.03

A rare Lightsworn Spirit Rare

Honest Yu-Gi-Oh! card art.

Honest is already one of the best cards in the set, and while the Secret Rare is a valuable addition to your collection, the Ghost Rare version of the card is even more valuable. This is due to the draw rate and the insane art.

Rare Ghost cards have a special foil that hides the card’s image behind a white veil. Tilt the card to see what the monster looks like, making them one of the coolest rarities in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG.

1 Judgment Dragon – $101.91

A secret rare boss monster

Yu-Gi-Oh! Judgment Dragon card art.

The most valuable card in this set is Judgement Dragon. It is one of the most iconic boss monsters in the Lightsworn archetype and has a powerful effect that can send your opponent into a turmoil. Once you have four Lightsworn monsters in the grave, you can Special Summon it from your hand.

For only 1000 Life Points, you can destroy all other cards on the field. Additionally, four cards are milled at the end of your turn, allowing you to trigger additional effects that activate in the grave.
