The MW3 rifle is “better than ever” after the buff in Warzone, but still has a catch

One of the most powerful sniper rifles from Modern Warfare 3 is “better than ever” in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded. However, there is a small catch.

Even though we’ve had COD Next and the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are still running at full speed with new updates and changes.

On the battle royale side, the Warzone meta has shifted again with the new Season 5 Reloaded update. Striker, Pulemyot 762, BAL-27, and Static-HV currently dominate Urzikstan. But they are not the only options.

The meta is currently more open than ever, and MCW 6.8 is a fringe area of it. According to Warzone guru WhosImmortal, the semi-automatic sniper rifle is one of the strongest weapons in the game. However, the semi-automatic mode comes with a small catch.

“The MCW 6.8, already a top-tier sniper, has been improved even further, with a better rate of fire and a lower body multiplier buff,” he said in his August 24 video, placing it firmly in the top tier of Warzone meta options.

“It’s limited here because the ammo often misfires and the 60-round magazine doesn’t show up in-game. And it’s semi-automatic, so there’s a skill gap there, but it’s one of the best long-range TTK options if you’re really good with semi-automatic weapons. So it’s getting better than ever and worth a try if you haven’t played around with it in a while.”

Although the MCW 6.8 was popular at the start, its popularity has since dropped significantly. According to WZRanked stats, it is the 36th most popular weapon in the game, behind the DG-56, the newly nerfed RPK, and the Kastov 762.

So if you are a master of semi-automatic weapons, give it a try. It will be worth it for you.
