The Ohio State Skull Session livestream season starts on Saturday

The Buckeyes begin their 2024 football season on Saturday at Ohio Stadium. For the fourth year in a row, the Ohio State University Marching Band’s Skull Session will be streamed live before the game – accessible on phones, tablets and laptops for those who cannot attend live at St. John Arena.

The Ohio State University Office of Marketing and Communications will live stream Skull Session prior to the game against the University of Akron Zips on Saturday afternoon and prior to every home game for the remainder of the season. The live stream will be available on the Ohio State YouTube Channel via the website or the YouTube app.

“We’re excited to be back live with our fourth season of Skull Session. This year we’re adding live interviews and have something special planned for our fans each week,” said Joe Camoriano, Director of National Broadcast Media. “If you tune in 2 1/2 hours before kickoff of each home game, you’ll experience one of the best fan experiences in the country.”

Camoriano and a team of videographers will stream Skull Session, using seven different cameras and multiple microphones to capture the action from all angles.

New features this year include:

· Flag Giveaway – One fan will receive an Ohio State flag each week. To enter the giveaway, viewers can submit a text code and keyword. For more information on the flag giveaways, visit this website.

Guest Interviews – For the first time, the Skull Session team will interview a special guest at the beginning of each livestream.

Originally serving as the Ohio State Marching Band’s final musical practice before its on-field performance, the Skull Session has become one of Buckeye fans’ most anticipated game-day traditions. The doors to St. John Arena open three hours before kickoff and the arena can fill up quickly.

TBDBITL marches into the arena and plays “Fanfare for a New Era” as the football team arrives. Coach Ryan Day, assistant coaches and players often speak to fans before they enter the stadium each week. The band then performs one final musical run-through of their pregame and halftime shows before the game begins.
