The Repair Shop expert says goodbye in an emotional tribute to his co-stars “This is the end”

Richard Talman, the esteemed expert on The Repair Shop, has bid a fond farewell to his colleagues and announced the end of his work on the latest season of the show. He posted a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram with the production team, expressing his gratitude for the season and the incredible team he works with.

His caption read: “Well that’s the end of filming for season 10 for me! What a wonderful season with some amazing people I get to call my work colleagues. You all know the experts so I wanted to introduce the incredible production team that makes the show possible.”

As he left, he added: “@therepairshop, thank you for letting me be here. That’s it, as they say!”

The post was met with warm reactions from Richard’s co-stars and admirers, with fellow pundit Julian Wallis commenting: “Love you bro. See you next year.”

One fan responded: “Everyone involved in The Repair Shop is truly amazing. So much love to everyone involved in this amazing show,” reports the Express.

Another wrote: “Richard thanks for sharing this, these people are the unsung heroes.” “Wow! All these people,” someone remarked.

Another fan praised: “Fantastic team, great to see what the others look like. Keep up the fantastic execution of this show.”

Away from the BBC series, Richard runs his own jewellery business. He began his career in September 1995 after completing secondary school and joining the prestigious Sir John Cass Faculty of Arts in Whitechapel, east London.

He completed his training with a diamond setting course at City and Guilds and then began an apprenticeship with a goldsmith in Hatton Garden in May 1996.

In June 2002, Richard successfully completed his apprenticeship at The Goldsmiths’ Company and was made an Honorary Freeman.

Richard confessed that when he was given the chance to appear as an expert on The Repair Shop, he initially thought the call from the show’s producers was a joke.

In an earlier interview with OK Magazine, he said: “There was a message on my landline at the workshop that said, ‘I’m a researcher for a show called The Repair Shop and we were wondering if you’d be interested in coming over and fixing some jewelry on TV.'”

“I wanted to press delete because I assumed it was a prank, but my wife googled the phone number and it came up as a production company, so I called her back!”

“The Repair Shop” is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
