The spatial video camera concept allows you to take hands-free photos and videos

The way we capture and watch video has been constantly changing, and mobile devices have evolved along with it. With the introduction of spatial video, we’re seeing brands like Apple try to pioneer this new form. Essentially, it’s video that lets you view photos and videos as if you were there, rather than just looking at them with a single fixed view. It’s a more immersive form of 3D, as you can turn your head and see different perspectives.

As more and more people become interested in spatial video, we’ll see all kinds of tools that can be used to record and watch such videos. One concept tool is called VISOO, a spatial video camera that lets you record videos that you can later watch on devices like Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro. It’s not a bulky camera by any means, as one of the things that will likely be taken into account when developing tools for this type of video is that it’s easy to transport.

Based on the product renders, VISOO is a fairly lightweight device that you can either carry around or attach to the accompanying glasses. With the handheld option, the cameras are stored in the battery compartment when you’re taking your photos and videos. There also appears to be a tripod that you can attach the case to if you need to place it on something more stable. With the glasses option, the cameras are attached to the hinges, allowing you to move around easily when capturing moments.

Since this is still in the concept phase, there is no information about the quality of the photos and videos captured. And since spatial video is still in its infancy, there is still a lot to discover and explore for brands building tools to make shooting and viewing videos fun.
