As students return to campus this fall, the Student Success Center at the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence (CORD) will continue to offer a network of resources and programs to help them succeed.

The center’s teams spent the summer expanding the program to meet the needs of new and advanced students. The Student Success Program focuses on maximizing academic success, increasing a sense of belonging, and improving student support throughout their studies.

In addition, staff works with campus faculty to organize workshops tailored to student needs. For personalized advice, students can contact the on-duty student advocate to find helpful campus resources. Student Success Center building and service hours can be found at success.uark.edu.

Special services this fall include:

Career Studio
The Career Studio offers individual and group counseling/coaching for some of the Offices of Career Connections’ most popular services, including resume and cover letter reviews, interview tips, and mock interviews. The Career Studio is open for walk-in appointments Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CORD Welcome Desk
The CORD Helpdesk is a resource for anyone trying to navigate academic life at the U of A. The Welcome Desk will help you use UAConnect and answer general questions about campus resources. The Welcome Desk will also help you with directions, information about offices across campus, tips for success in courses, and information about major and minor options at the U of A.

Peer Academic Coaching
Through coaching, students can evaluate their current academic strategies and skills to identify strengths and weaknesses so they can develop and adapt new strategies and habits for success. During coaching sessions, students learn how to navigate university life efficiently and effectively. Students are encouraged to contact an academic coach at CORD for one-on-one sessions and personalized support.
