Another day, another bob hair trend that has me considering finally getting a haircut. I wasn’t sure if this popular hairstyle would still be trending this fall, but it looks like the bob is here to stay, and I for one am not mad about it.
Although there are already many bob hairstyles that you can get inspiration from, I want to talk a little about the “tucked bob”. What is this new bob trend, I hear you ask? Coined by Hairdresser and hair trend expert, Thomas Smiththe tucked bob has been spotted on the likes of Lily Collins, Gigi Hadid, America Ferrera and Hailey Bieber (to name a few). If you ask me, it’s perhaps one of the chicest short hairstyles you can try this season and will elevate your look in seconds. Curious? I thought so. What is a tucked bob?
After a conversation about hair trends in autumn with Blacksmith I learned everything about the Tucked Bob. As described by Blacksmith“(The tucked bob is) a bob haircut that is either one length or slightly layered and secured behind one or both ears.” As you can probably tell, this style is very easy to achieve and works on all lengths and styles of bobs.
In terms of styling Blacksmith advises trying the trend on hair that has a little product in it. “Freshly washed or frizzy hair can be difficult to secure behind the ear,” he explains. “Use a volumizing spray or mousse before blow-drying to further secure the style, and fix the hair around the ear with a strong hold hairspray.” If you want a more stable result, you can even use a small clip behind the ear to hold the hair in place.
