Gecko crawl, spaghetti western movie night and a trip back to the ’80s: here’s what to do in Gulfport, St. Pete, the beaches of Tampa Bay and beyond from August 15-21.

Thursday, August 15

Women in Technology St. Pete’s Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship section hosts a happy hour for women in the industry to connect, network, and make friends. Social Thursday evening Dance to DJ Daniel’s disco beats at this month’s Thursday Night Social: The Village People Edition. Craftsmen’s Corner Support artists in the Tampa Bay Area and go home with a great new find from Imagine Museum’s Crafter’s Corner: A Local Artist Market. This museum market features everything from artwork to jewelry sets. Admission is free and you can enter the museum with a donation. Husky Ice Cream Party If you have a husky, today is your lucky day. This husky ice cream party invites all dogs who want to escape the heat to an ice cream party of rolling and playing. Gulfport:

Story time with Jack Gulfport in the 1980s looked very different than the Gulfport we know today. Jack Wamhoff has teamed up with the Gulfport History Museum to share his stories from back then, including anecdotes from his 15 years in the Gulfport Public Works Department. Listen and discuss history at this Gulfport Stories Series event. Free trees The City of Gulfport is providing free trees to residents to take home. Encourage your friends, family and neighbors to take a tree to plant in their yards. Gecko Crawl Kick off Gecko season with a Gulfport tradition – the Gecko Crawl! Here’s how it works: One ticket gets you a drink at one of six Gulfport bars while you play poker. Stay at all six bars to win big. This year, the crawlers will visit The Tiki Bar & Grill, Neptune Grill, Peninsula Bed & Cocktails, Gulfport Brewery + Restaurant, And The North End Taphouse. IndieFair Catch up on what’s new in the arts scene at IndieFaire on the third Saturday in Gulfport. Discover local art, jewelry, plants, crafts and enjoy live performances. Toy trains Regal Railway presents a toy train and collectibles exhibit. Check out the model trains, die-cast model cars and other collectibles from the dealers. The fun here is suitable for all ages, so bring the whole family. The kids won’t want to miss the amazing train track around the venue. Pub crawl like it’s 1999 Get out your ’80s and ’90s gear for this free retro pub crawl through St. Pete’s Grand Central District. ’90s-themed participants start at Right Around the Corner Arcade Bar and then visit I Brewed the World. For ’80s-themed participants, it’s the other way around. Then you’ll have your choice of Cage Brewing or Pinellas Ale Works. Ask the bartender at each stop for a free raffle ticket. Exhibition to recognize teachers Each month, the Suntan Arts Center hosts art classes and workshops.
