THE WHOLE WEEKEND | 30820 111th Street, Wilmot

Enjoy live music, food vendors, contests and other fun events for the whole family at this year’s Kenosha County Fair. The fair features entertainment in the grandstands each night, including truck and tractor pulls, dirt track racing and the annual Demolition Derby. Tickets can be purchased at the fairgrounds the day of the fair.

ALL WEEKEND | MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO

The zoo brings food and live music to its grounds for this popular annual event. Sample some of the zoo’s new executive chef Ashley Turner’s dishes, including her first and second Wisconsin State Fair Sporkies winners, while listening to music on six stages. Tickets can be purchased on the zoo’s website.

THE WHOLE WEEKEND | HENRY W. MAIER FESTIVAL PARK

Celebrate Irish culture at this long-running festival with food, drink, music and dancing. Visitors can also discover their Irish ancestry in the genealogy area, meet a variety of Celtic dogs and watch the parades on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event on the Irish Fest website.

THE WHOLE WEEKEND | NEXT ACT THEATRE

This weekend is the last chance to see Bombshell Theatre’s production The PROM. A small-town high school is thrown into turmoil when a girl asks her friend to be her prom date. Four eccentric Broadway stars come to town “on a mission to change lives.” Tickets for the show can be purchased prior to the event on the Bombshell Theatre website.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | Waukesha County Exhibition Center

Unleash your creativity at the Fired Arts Expo. Hundreds of ceramic pieces are on display for visitors to get inspired. The Expo includes demonstrations, educational events, competitions and more. Visitors can participate in workshops to develop new skills and techniques in ceramics.

FRIDAY FROM 1-3 PM | WUSTUM MUSEUM, RACINE

Get in touch with nature with this hands-on drawing experience in the gardens of the Wustum Museum in Racine. Over two hours, participants are taught to identify elements of flora and fauna in the museum’s gardens. Participating artists should bring their favorite drawing materials and a portable seat, while the museum will provide additional drawing materials and supplies.

FRIDAY FROM 6 PM TO 10 PM | GREAT LAKES DISTILLERY

This festival features live music from well+good, Bro.Malik and dak duBois & Co. In addition to the live performances, festival-goers can also enjoy food trucks and craft cocktails. There is also a mini Milwaukee market to browse. Admission to the event is free.

SATURDAY 8 AM TO 12 PM | HENRY W. MAIER FESTIVAL PARK.

The Irish Fest race begins at 10 a.m. and takes participants along Milwaukee’s lakefront. Following the race, which benefits the Arthritis Foundation, there will be a celebration for all participants and awards for the top three male and female runners. Register on the Irish Fest website before the race.

SATURDAY 9AM TO 11AM | MAGGIANO’S LITTLE ITALY, MAYFAIR

In this class, kids will learn classic Italian cooking from Chef Briggs in a fun and light-hearted atmosphere at Maggiano’s Little Italy. While the kids cook, parents and families can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the restaurant. Tickets for this experience can be purchased in advance on the Eventbrite website.

SATURDAY FROM 9 AM TO 12 PM | HARLEY-DAVIDSON PARK

The event will feature a morning of wellness activities to nourish the mind, body and soul. Activities will include stimulating yoga and fitness classes and green living workshops. Local vendors will also be selling healthy drinks, food and goods. Activities are free and open to the public.

SATURDAY 11AM-2PM | PERSPECTIVE BREWING CO.

This race begins at 11 a.m. in the West Allis Taproom and takes participants on a loop through the taproom where a post-race celebration takes place. All participants will receive a craft beer after the race and the choice of a collectible pint glass or a seasonal Brewery Running Series promotional item. At the finish line, participants can also expect live music and festivities as well as the chance to win prizes such as merchandise or beer to take home. You can register here.

SATURDAY FROM 2-10 PM | DANIEL HOAN MEMORIAL BRIDGE, MILWAUKEE RIVER

Proceeds from this massive party on the water support the Light the Horn Foundation’s year-round programming and community outreach initiatives, as well as funding lights to illuminate the east side of the Hoan Bridge. The party includes a boat parade on the Milwaukee River under the bridge, as well as a drone show and dazzling fireworks display synchronized with the lights on the bridge.

SATURDAY FROM 5 TO 9 PM | CEDARBURG ART MUSEUM

Palette to Plate supports programming and maintenance of the historic 1898 Wittenburg/Jochem Mansion. This fundraiser includes food from Saz’s Hospitality Group, live music from Lulu Quintet, silent and live auctions, and a bar featuring Lakefront Brewery Tap House. Tickets can be purchased per person or per table on the Cedarburg Art Museum website.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | FOWLER PARK, OCONOMOWOC

This festival presents works by 110 artists from across the United States in ceramics, drawing/pastel/printmaking, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry and more. There will also be live music, food and drink, and kIn the children’s area, the students present have the opportunity to create their own little masterpieces.

SUNDAY 10 AM TO 6 PM | JACKSON PARK

Celebrate Native American and Indigenous arts and culture at this festival. Native American artists and vendors will showcase and discuss their work, as well as perform live. There will also be food, face painting, and free, family-friendly art activities.

SUNDAY FROM 10AM-4PM | DISCOVERY WORLD

The Milwaukee Makers Market is a celebration of the city’s creative community. At the market, shoppers can browse artisanal, handcrafted local products from over 45 small businesses. Admission to the market is free and it only takes place on select Sundays throughout the year.

SUNDAY FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM | VETERANS PARK

The Puerto Rican Festival of Wisconsin is in its 11th year celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Puerto Rico. Enjoy live music, authentic food and traditional dancing while exploring the cultural exhibits the festival has to offer. The park will also be lined with booths and there will be activities like face painting, making the festival fun for the whole family.

SUNDAY AND MONDAY | ROTARY PARK, MEQUON

The Peltz Center For Jewish Life Mequon presents the Jewish Food Festival for the Mequon area. This festival will feature many Jewish dishes including stuffed cabbage, matzo ball soup with chicken, falafel pitas and plates, shawarma pitas and plates, and chocolate babka and pastrami. There will also be educational programs, live music, and an interactive shtetl village. Admission to the event is free, and parking is $5.
